PRODUCTION & SALES

This section depicts GDP and its key components, detailing growth in the U.S. economy. Economic growth directly impacts corporate profits and therefore stock prices.

It is useful to monitor economic growth in the various components of GDP. For instance, if consumer spending is accelerating, then it might be useful to invest in consumer sector stocks. If capital spending is a soaring star, look for investment opportunities in this particular sector. Each of the charts in this sector either reveal the state of conditions in the sector, or are an indicator of where the sector is headed in the near term.
